It’s been a long while since I’ve updated. Things have been incredibly busy for me, which is always good. Keeping busy keeps you out of trouble… Or so they say. Needless to say, I have to admit that I’ve been totally blown away by the last couple of months. I’ve knocked down a goal TWICE by competing. And in my wildest dreams, I never would have thought that I would even come close to placing top 3 each time. First two shows, hard work, dedication, and my passion and love for fitness has led me to a place that feels so amazing. My last show was the Eastern USA Championships in NYC. Instead of talking about it, here’s my recent video blog about the experience:
So now comes the second part of training… The off season. I’m in full swing now working to take my body to a whole new level. What’s changed are the variables such as reps/sets/rest, amount of weight used, exercise selection. The intensity nonetheless is still pretty high and challenging. My goal is to build my back more, build up my shoulders too – both to give an illlusion of a smaller waist. Finally I want to thin out my legs just a bit. I’m training my upper body with a different protocol than the lower body to allow for this adaption. I’m very excited to see where I will be 12 weeks from now.So on the agenda… Possibly 6 shows. Each about 4-6 weeks apart. 3 National Level Shows (Team U, Nationals, USAs), and 3 regional/local (Musclecontest.com/LA, California State, Tournament of Champions – all NQs). I’m doing the regional/local shows to ensure that I qualify for the national level in 2012 in the case that I don’t turn Pro. They are also practice shows for me before hitting the National stage. I’m excited. I’m nervous. I’m SO many things. One thing I am though is sure that I’m ready to bring my best to whatever stage I hit.So without further ado… My journal for the next few weeks will chronicle my transformation to the National stage…Stay tuned.
